We look to appoint passionate, practical and enthusiastic individuals to join our Land Agency team and we are seeking a Farm Business Advisor. Based in our North-East office in Durham City, you would be joining a team of dedicated professionals who work closely with the rural community to advise clients across the North of England and Yorkshire. You will assist in providing a comprehensive range of services, H&H Land & Estates is part of the H&H Group and our mission is to add value and help protect the economies we serve.

We are looking for driven, well organised individuals that can demonstrate excellent time management skills with an ability to manage a broad portfolio of work. You will be supported to be proactive and play a key part in a developing and growing team.

The role includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Liaising with farmers and landowners as required and providing on farm visits
  • Producing maps and documentation as required to support advice given or application to schemes.
  • Providing information as required to relevant authorised external bodies such as the Rural Payments Agency, DEFRA etc
  • Acting on behalf of clients, providing advice and support in respect of all payment schemes including but not exclusively Countryside Stewardship, Grants, Sustainable Farming Incentive and Agri-environmental schemes.
  • Maintaining records on behalf of clients, advising on Government Directives related to agriculture, this to include but not solely limited to NVZ’s, whole farm appraisals including nutrient plans and soil management plans.
  • Assisting with farm business management where required providing costings and budgets if necessary.
  • Helping clients understand and participate in environmental schemes, creating positive impacts on both their business and the environment.
  • Representing the company at professional society events, company events or farmers’ group meetings as required.

You should demonstrate a strong interest in the rural environment and be adept at and enjoy engaging, influencing and communicating with clients, professionals and the rural community.

Whilst relevant practical agricultural experience is preferred, the company is happy to consider applications from those who can demonstrate broad experience in the sector.

A full UK driving licence is required.
