Two Mixed Pheasant & Partridge Driven Shoot Days Available To Let

Two mixed pheasant and partridge driven shoot days (8 guns) available to let on Winderwath Estate, Penrith, Cumbria in December or January.

Winderwath Estate shoot is a traditional family-owned shoot located in the heart of the beautiful Eden Valley near Penrith, located between the Pennines and the Lake District. providing relaxed but professionally run driven days (120 to 200 pheasant with partridges for interest) across a variety of different drives and including hospitality from our local caterers using the best of local produce.

Covering some 2.900 acres of arable and grassland land and some 350 acres of woodland in the heart of the Eden Valley the shoot borders the Rivers Eden and Eamont on two sides and includes rolling countryside with some steeper slopes allowing for a variety of drives for all capabilities of gun with a mixture of high flying birds but also some lower level drives, where partridges mix with pheasants to provide further interest and challenge for guns. a number with extensive views of the Pennines to the east and the Lakeland mountains to the west.

The base for the shoot day is "The Barn" where all hospitality is provided and welfare facilities are available. Catering which is included is provided by our local caterer using local produce . Transport is provided in a dedicated shoot trailer or other estate vehicles.

There are two catering options and formats of day available being:-

1. Formal days with a mid-morning tea and coffee, two course lunch (choice of one from a range of options)  and then late afternoon tea and cake, or

2. Shoot through day with mid-morning soup and sausage rolls (or equivalent) out in the field with a two-course lunch at the end of the day around 2.30/3.00 pm

A selection of soft drinks and beer and wine (in moderation) are included with lunch.

The shoot at Winderwath provides an excellent shooting day experience which maintain all the traditions of a formal shoot day, but with a relaxed and convivial atmosphere that provides both a great shoot experience but also a pleasant hospitable day out.
