A substantial block of fell land extending to approximately 428.53 acres (173.42 hectares) in all, situated at the head of the Longsleddale valley. The land enjoys outstanding views both down the Longsleddale valley and out over Haweswater.

The land forms a single, well defined block, effectively comprising one large bowl. It is a good summering fell with very little in the way of bracken or rock outcrop. The boundaries comprise predominantly well maintained post and wire fences, together with some stretches of dry stone wall.

The land is divided internally into two parcels. The larger parcel extends to approximately 411.43 acres (166.50 hectares) and is down to grazing. The smaller parcel, extending to approximately 17.10 acres (6.92 hectares), has been planted with trees in recent years.
